Fall festivals, playoff football, and cooler weekends fill October across the county. I rounded up local events worth adding to your calendar.
If a move is on your mind this fall, I hope this gives you a simple place to start.

From my desk
What I am watching this month
October is a good month to plan around cooler weekends and the holidays ahead. Buyers can weigh fall light, heating, schools in session, and total monthly cost. Sellers can focus on the heating check, presentation, and the repairs that help a home show well before the holidays.

October walkthrough
Walk the neighborhood at the times you will use it. Notice drainage after rain, morning light in the kitchen, heating systems, and how the street feels on a school day.

Pre-holiday prep
Book the heating check and gutter cleanup now. Contractors fill up before the holidays, and a warm, dry home shows better in a walk-through.
